Modern banks play an important part in promoting economic development of a country. Banks provide necessary funds for executing various programmes underway in the process of economic development. They collect savings of large masses of people scattered through out the country, which in the absence of banks would have remained ideal and unproductive. These scattered amounts are collected, pooled together and made available to commerce and industry for meeting the requirements. Economy of Bangladesh is in the group of world’s most underdeveloped economies. One of the reasons may be its underdeveloped banking system. Government as well as different international organizations have also identified that underdeveloped banking system causes some†¦show more content†¦The scope of the study is limited to the Anderkilla Branch only. The report covers the organizational structure, background, banking activities, functions and the performance of the branch. I mentioned about the government rules and regulations on different banking activities. Methodology Certain methods and techniques were utilized to collect data for this report. Both primary and secondary sources were chosen as effective means of collecting data relevant for this report. Interview was the basic technique that was employed to collect primary data from people within the organization. For the procedure of different banking operations, I had observed the operations and worked with the officers at the same time. I had interviewed the Bank Asia Officials for getting more information. On the other hand, secondary sources were used to collect data regarding the company’s performance since its inception. Publications and database within the organization helped me to gather data about the organization. In addition, further more the secondary sources of information are the different annual report kept in the bank. Limitations This report may have some incompleteness due to some of the limitations I encountered while completing it, that are mentioned below: 1. One major limitation was the time constraint as every department has many activities. This report could have been prepared in a much broader and extensive manner with more time and space availability. 2.
